Description

10-SAND SOAK This was once an important soak on the sandalwood cutters tracks te the north of Beacon. It had a very good water supply, dug out anc timbered by the sandalwooders. There were also big gnamma hole: which the sandalwooders covered up to keep the birds and animal: out. The timber walls of the soak have since been replaced with concrete. This water source was a vital water carting point fo farmers for many years. This large granite outcrop and soak are i popular picnic spot. Donkey orchids, along with many other lovel! bush flowers, can be found at the rock during spring. Travel east fron Beacon for 10.5km to Dalgouring Rd, head north 11.6km to soal entrance track on right. The soak and large granite outcrop with picnic spot are 0.8km east along sand track. There are great views o surrounding farmland. NO CAMPING-NO VANS This is a fee unknown Point of Interest. Pets are allowed. No camping or overnight parking allowed.
