Description

This is a Free Point of Interest. No camping or overnight parking allowed. Watching over the view of the Stirling Ranges from the top of a dam bank, Alice is named because of her make...Allis-Chalmers. This one is a late model (1948/49) Model U tractor, made in the USA, but the wheels were cast here in Western Australia. This model was the first tractor to be factory installed with rubber tyres. At it's time, speed tests were conducted on the Allis-Chalmers and was deemed the fastest tractor of it's kind. Alice was sponsored by Cassy Beeck, who is the current secretary of GNP360, and who is the project manager for The Horsepower Highway community initiative.
