Lake Grace Information Centre

Information Centre

Description

The Lake Grace Visitor Centre services the Shire of Lake Grace which encompasses the towns of Lake Grace, Newdegate, Lake King and Varley. The Lake Grace Stationmasters House, located on Stubbs Street in the centre of Lake Grace, was originally built in 1924 as a residence for the manager of the nearby Railway Station. Following the closure of the railway in 1987, the building fell into a state of disuse and disrepair. Western Australian Government Railways initiated transfer of ownership of the building to the Shire of Lake Grace in 2002, and the Lake Grace Development Association formed plans to convert the building into a Visitors Information Centre. Today the Visitor Centre is a hub of activity, open 5 days a week from 9am - 5pm with locals and visitors both utilising the centre to information, events and just as a fantastic setting for lunch!
