Sweetwater Creek Lower Nature Reserve
Point of InterestDescription
Park with nice scenery. Multiple path options around the lake from easy gravel suitable for prams/pushers/wheelchairs to well marked bush trails. Lovely in Spring when the wildflowers are out.
Canoe/kayak launching point but a bit of a walk from the car park.
Good parking but no toilets or bins - if you carry it in, please carry it out.
There is a profusion of indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses, thrilling bird life and the serenity of a tumbling stream. The Reserve corridor remains a unique ribbon of forest, heath, swamp and grassland interlocked by walking trails and resting places.
The main track takes walkers beside rock pools, across bridges through an enclosure of native shrubbery and eventually onto a boardwalk, through a corridor of melaleuca and swampland. Side tracks provide opportunities to explore and observe.
