Pink Lakes - Lake Hardy Circuit Walk
Point of InterestDescription
Lake Hardy is a pink salt lake in the Murray-Sunset National Park.
Lake Hardy Walk 1.7km, 45 minutes circuit Grade 3
This short circuit walk around the pinkest of the pink lakes gives a nice overview of the terrain and vegetation of the area. Its proximity to the entrance road makes it a popular destination with photographers, especially at sunrise and sunset when soft light tends to accentuate the pink colouring of the lake.
A well-formed walking track marked with blue triangles starts at the information board and leads left along the edge of the lake.
Pink Lakes are 60kms west of Ouyen along the Mallee Highway. Turn onto an all-weather gravel road for 13kms to the main camping areas at Lake Crosbie. Access further north into the park is recommended for four wheel drive only.
Access is also possible by two wheel drive vehicles along a gravel road from Linga.
Dogs and other pets are not permitted in the park.
No camping or overnight parking.
