Costick's Weir
Point of InterestDescription
2km further into the Colquhoun Forest along the Nowa Nowa Rd from the Stoney Creek Trestle, you will find Cosstick's Weir.
Following the 1939 Black Friday bushfires, Cosstick's Weir (and many other dams and weirs) was built during WW2 to provide a reliable water source for water tankers for firefighting.
Research indicates the correct spelling is 'Cosstick' after Chief Forst Officer John Cosstick.
