Information centre for Wilsons Wilsons Promontory National Park. Tidal River Visitor Centre is 30km south of the park entrance. The helpful staff at the visitor centre can help with all park enquiries, from accommodation bookings, to insider tips on where to spot native wildlife as well as booking permits for overnight hikes within the national park. An interpretive display tells colourful stories of Wilsons Prom, covering its rich history and natural values. Mobile device charging stations are available outside the Tidal River Visitor Centre and in some laundries throughout the campground. A $2 coin is required to access the charging stations which is returned when you have finished charging your device. Next to the Visitor Centre, the Tidal River General Store stocks the essentials, including milk, bread, ice, gas refills and souvenirs, along with a basic range of supermarket, emergency items and hot and cold food. The Tidal River Visitor Centre is open daily, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm during peak periods and from 09.00am to 4:00pm during winter. A free shuttle bus operates between Tidal River and Telegraph Saddle during the summer and Easter school holidays, and on weekends from November to April. Departure points include the Tidal River Visitor Centre Carpark, the overnight hikers carpark at Tidal River and Telegraph Saddle carpark. The bus timetable is posted at all departure locations and the Tidal River Visitor Centre. Telegraph Saddle carpark is closed to vehicle access when the shuttle bus is in operation. Dogs are not permitted.
