Description

The formation of the Wannon Waterfalls resulted from the directional flow of lava to Wannon River, resulting in the spectacular display of waterfall that is seen today. Downstream, visitors are treated to the sight of rapids as the water carves its way around the gigantic basalt rocks. The viewing platform located at the falls offers amazing views of the land beyond. Close by, a rotunda displays interpretative media for visitors to the falls. There are a number of walking trails near to Wannon Falls which range from easy to moderate in difficulty. The waterfall is at it's best during June and October.
