Longridge Camp (Group Bookings)

Campground

Description

Longridge Camping Area is a peaceful place to camp along the Yarra River. The campground can only be used by one group at a time, giving you exclusive access to a private riverside retreat. The quiet camping area at Longridge Park accommodates a large group of up to 40 people. Set among beautiful woodland in Warrandyte, it has all the space and facilities you will need for the perfect weekend getaway with family and friends. Go for a swim in the river to cool down, or set off in a canoe to explore all that the Yarra has to offer. There is a canoe launching ramp only 100m from the campground. Cast a line and try your luck fishing in the river. The campground is well-equipped for a cookout, with a wood BBQ, picnic tables, drinking water and a dishwashing area. There are toilets and hot showers, which are accessible for people with limited mobility. Play and camp in the open space, or sit around the fire pit as you take in the sounds and serenity of the bush in Yarra Valley Parklands. Go for a morning stroll down to the river and you might be lucky enough to spot a platypus. Campground access is restricted to booked campers via a locked gate. Advance bookings are essential so you can be given a permit and code to open the gate. The period between 1.00pm on the first day and 12.00pm (midday) the following day constitutes a single day's booking. The campsite is unpowered and suitable for tents only. There is a car park within the campground near the information shelter. Limited wood is supplied and it is recommended that you bring your own wood splitter.
