Horsham Showground
Campground
Description
Maydale Reserve in Horsham, Victoria is an historic precinct with rustic buildings which attract lots of events, mostly on weekends, with weddings, festivals and expos. Owned and managed by the local ag society, the majority of 'staff' are volunteers. PLEASE BOOK via our website listed. We have almost 40 powered sites and 100 unpowered sites with drinkable water from taps on our buildings where you can fill up. Only if you're unable to open the link to book, should you need to phone ahead. However after booking it is recommended you phone so that you know what area to camp in, especially if you're arriving out of office hours.
FREE camping can be negotiated in exchange for labour to set up or pack up events as volunteers are aging and few. Ask Andrea the Venue Manager, how you can help when booking.
Facilities are both old and new. Showers although old the water is hot and great flow while the new accessible toilets are great. Powered sites are $27.50 and $16.50 non powered for 2 and kids are an extra $5.50 each.
Located on the Wimmera River, there is a lovely walking track into town (ten minutes) with lots on riverfront improvements going on. Walk past the botanic gardens to the main street. A 5km loop across two pedestrian bridges can be ridden or walked.
