Description

This large, flat and open campground is located on the western side of the Aire River where fishing and canoeing can be enjoyed. It's a good place for large groups to camp. Please check Park information as the flats are prone to flooding and may be closed. The camping area is located off Sand Road from the Great Ocean Road. The campground has river access. Advanced bookings and payment are required year round. There are 40 campsites available accommodating a maximum of 6 people per site. All campsites are unpowered. Sites 1-5, sites 17-23 and sites 27-40 are suitable for large caravans; sites 7-11 are suitable for small caravans; sites 12-16 are suitable for tents only. All other sites are suitable for tents, camper-trailers, campervans or recreational vehicles. NOTE: there is no diagram on either the Parks website or in the camp to show where each site is located; take note of detail in website picture. Non-flush toilets, a picnic shelter, shared picnic tables, on-site information, access to the Great Ocean Walk, shared fireplaces and a boat landing are available. Only allowed in fireplaces provided - supply your own wood. Fuel stoves or your own gas barbeque are preferred for cooking. Some water is available but is not suitable for drinking - supply your own. There is no rubbish collection at this campground. Please take all rubbish with you. Pets are not permitted.
