Brid River Forest Walking Track
Point of InterestDescription
This walking track follows the Brid river for a considerable distance, then goes steeply uphill behind the town, then skirting behind the houses until it reaches Granite Point. It crosses Main St near the Golf Club 4.7 km along.
There is a return track along the foreshore from Granite Point which uses shared roadway for the first 1 km, which will allow walkers the option of a complete circuit walk.
It is regularly used by cyclists, so watch out, although there is a sign at the bridge crossing 500m in saying they are prohibited. Cyclists will need to carry their bike up two steep staircases at the bridge.
There are a couple of small open carports along the track which may be overgrown with vegetation and only provide minimal shelter.
