Balfour Packhorse Track
Point of InterestDescription
South end of the Balfour Packhorse / Walking Track, which was once used for packhorses and prospectors enroute to the mines at Balfour in the 1900's.
It is a medium, 8km 3 hour return walk through cool temperate rainforest, beneath towering myrtle, eucalypt and sassafras trees.
The forest walk loosely follows the course of Stephens Rivelet although you wont seem much of it until near the north end.
Not to be confused with the 4WD route, further to the SW, also called the Balfour Track.
