Enjoy your experience! ----- This is a great introduction tour to Tasmania and leaves guests wanting to explore more of this beautiful island. The tour focuses on Tasmanian wilderness, history, nature and local produce. Explore Hobart's city streets before driving up to the summit of Mt. Wellington for breathtaking views and panoramic pictures. Your guide will also drive by Hobart's cherished monuments giving detailed descriptions of their origins. Indulge in a stop at Cascade Brewery to stroll their glorious gardens or sample some local lagers at the bar (extra cost). Set in the foothills of South Hobart beneath Mt. Wellington, it's the oldest operating brewery in Australia. The next stop is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. This small sanctuary is run by a passionate team invested in preserving Australia's endangered wildlife. You'll see the elusive Tasmanian Devils, wombats, koalas, quolls, echidnas, sugar gliders, plus birds including tawny frogmouths and yellow-tailed black cockatoos. There are kangaroos that roam free within the Sanctuary and are always keen for a good scratch on the chest and gentle hand feeding. After you've had your fill of cute animals, it's onto picturesque Richmond. Take time to wander around this quaint town and take a photograph of the oldest bridge in Australia. The Richmond Bridge is a heritage-listed sandstone arch bridge that's spanned the Coal River since 1825. Finally, it's time to take the 30 min drive back to Hobart, where you'll get dropped off at Salamanca to continue exploring on your own. If you're travelling on a Saturday, make sure you spend time at the famous Salamanca Markets.
