Description

This is another dog friendly beach in the area, and like South Burnie, the whole beach is 24hr off leash year round. For an energetic dog, you can make a good combination walk with South Burnie Beach by putting your dog back on leash to walk over the Emu River bridge, then walk the length of both beaches before returning to your car. Wivenhoe has a bin but it doesn't have a water tap (don't let dogs drink the river water, it is currently considered polluted). If you're going to walk both beaches, probably park at South Burnie as there are bins, taps and public loos there. If you're in a caravan the parking is probably also better at South Burnie. Wivenhoe car park is not that large.
