Pine Ridge
CampgroundDescription
You must be fully self contained at this site.
Pine Ridge is a 25 Hectare Private property that has been developed as a natural parkland. It consists of mature trees and native grasses where the low scrub has been cleared for ease of use and safety. A large mature dam exists which has a small jetty(recently rebuilt) to make swimming easier. There is a community covered area with a stone barbeque nearby. his property offers good protection from the wind. There are large areas of flat and firm ground for larger caravans up top and medium and small campers can find many nice locations closer to the water.
The upper areas also have ocean views. The property has a capacity that I restrict to 14 units at present although there is probably space for 100 but I do not want to cram the area and spoil the experience.
The site is listed with Hipcamp, but you can just turn up. If you try to ring me with no luck, there is ALWAYS room available if you are stuck, even though I only list 14 places.
Optus is available on the main drive areas with ocean views. Telstra is patchy at best at the moment.
The grassed area between the hut and the water/jetty is not for camping. It is community common area, and sensitive to traffic damage.
There is a loop track down to the dam area with 2 access points. Both on your left hand side and both marked with signs as such. I suggest initially to take the second access as you get to see a better aspect of the property and what is available.
FIRES. There are camp fire drums on site free of charge and bags of wood are available at $20 per bag. No ground fires are permitted. If you bring your own wood that's ok, but there will be a surcharge of $10 as I still have to clean up ashes and coals etc. There are tanks of dam water around the property to ensure everyone has easy access to water to put out their fires EVERY evening and when departing.. Fire usage depends of the local regulation at the time and is always subject to change.
