DURING THE YEARS 1856-1858 16500 CHINESE LANDED NEAR THIS SPOT AND WALKED 200 MILES TO THE VICTORIAN GOLDFIELDS IN SEARCH OF GOLD RE-ENACTED FOR THE STATE'S JUBILEE 150th CELEBRATION IN 1986 ERECTED BY THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE
