Underground Accommodation is tunnelled out of the Sandstone surrounds. 8 of the Motel Rooms are 3.5m under a sandstone ridge & you enter at ground level. 2 Motels are above ground with windows. The Budget Rooms & Dorms are 6.5m Underground underneath the Motels, down 34 steps. 60% of us who live in Coober Pedy live Underground to avoid the heat of Summer.
