WWII Armoury
Point of InterestDescription
WWII remnant site for weapon production.
Charleville Airport became part of the United States of America in 1942 when the site was handed over to the USAAF as a top secret site during World War II.
Many of the sites have been uncovered and you can join a guided tour of the base. Drive your own car (high clearance vehicle recommended) for this experience. Bookings are essential and can be made at the Charleville Cosmos Centre and Information Centre, or by going online and doing it in the comfort of your own home at their website.
The tour departs the Cosmos Centre.
