Upper Gorge Lookout
Point of InterestDescription
Upper Gorge lookout
3.7km one way - the back track, allow 2hrs 3.6km one way - via Indarri Falls, allow 2hrs
Best time: early morning or late afternoon. Most of the track is exposed with no shade and best avoided during the heat of the day. There is some shade walking alongside Lawn Hill Creek.
There are two options to reach the Upper Gorge lookout. The first option involves tackling the tracks in a clockwise direction, and taking the less strenuous 'back track' through changing outback landscapes to the lookout. To return, you can then walk alongside Lawn Hill Creek to Indarri Falls for a refreshing swim. Alternatively, the second option passes by Indarri Falls first and then beside Lawn Hill Creek before walking up a series of steep switchbacks (or zig zags) before reaching the Upper Gorge lookout.
