The Upon The Levee Wall mural project which commenced in May 2015 and aims to share Mackay's history spanning across 165 years.
The Artists have included multilingual words on the wall with help from their community. Languages represented are from the Maltese community, the Italian community, South Sea Island and Thursday Island community.
Spokesperson for the artists, Margaret Burgess said 'I have also spoken with the Yuwibara people and we are going to get all their words and weave it into the story'.
Locals and tourists passing by will discover the history of the John Mackay settlement, and the Prima Madonna - a ship that arrived in 1867 with 70 South Sea Islanders onboard.
