Located in Currawinya National Park, Lake Numalla is saline. It forms part of the Currawinya Lakes Ramsar site that is one of Queenslands most important inland wetland areas. Over 200 bird species have been observed at the Currawinya Lakes Ramsar site.
All roads are unsealed and may become impassable when wet. Travel by four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. Access to the park is via working pastoral properties. Take care to avoid stock on unfenced roads and leave gates as you find them. Please respect the rights of property owners.
Currawinya National Park is remote and you must be self-sufficient and prepared for emergencies.
Domestic animals are not permitted in Currawinya National Park.
Camping is not permitted at the lakes.
