The best ever skeleton of the marine reptile Elasmosaurus was found in the region in 1999 and a replica is on display in the Chillahoe town.
This dinosaur swam in Chillagoe seas 140 milliin years ago when sea levels were 160m above what they are now. Many fossils have been found in the limestone and marble around this town.
No camping or overnight parking.
