Critters Camp Gulflander Stop
Point of InterestDescription
Critters Camp is a railway stop for the Gulflander rail service between Normanton and Croyden. At this point the rail motor can be turned around on a short spur line to return to Normanton for the short Critters Camp trip. This rail is a popular tourist attraction in the area.
Other trips travel the entire line between Normanton and Croyden.
This is a light rail placed on prepared road base using steel sleepers. Severe weather events disrupt the rail service until repairs can be effected.
Story has it that the name came about because of many biting critters such as spiders and scorpions that were in the area.
