Collingwood Cemetery Marker
Point of InterestDescription
Collingwood Cemetery
This cemetery is one of the few relics of the town of Collingwood, which was intended to become a major centre to service pastoral development in the Diamantina region. The settlement was established from 1874 but it never thrived, due to the growth of the town of Winton from 1877
Collingwood was abandoned by about 1900. Through the years of its existence, people who died at the settlement or nearby were buried in this cemetery.
