Start your day just right with a scenic helicopter flight over the Great Barrier Reef, followed by an exciting afternoon city sights tour around Cairns.
Scenic Helicopter Flight
Heading away from the mainland, enjoy views of the city of Cairns and Trinity inlet, passing False Cape where you can see the remnants of WWII defences, Mt Yarrabah, Mission Bay and Cape Grafton.
From there, you'll strike out to the inner edge of the Reef and Green Island, a 6,000-year-old coral sand island that boasts its own native rainforest ecosystem. Then, tracking to the north, explore the western side of Arlington Reef, home to a diverse range of marine creatures turtles, sharks and stingrays.
Continuing north, you'll circle Vlasoff Cay, a tiny sand island in the middle of the reef that reduces to only a few hundred square metres in size at high tide.
From Vlasoff Cay, head west, over Upolu Cay and back to Cairns, taking in fantastic views of the North Queensland coastline framed by the lush rainforest-covered slopes of the Great Dividing Range.
Cairns City Sights Tour
After getting collected from your accommodation, your afternoon begins by the water's edge at the Cairns Marlin Marina, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. It boasts first-class facilities and picturesque views over the water.
Next, it's on to St. Monica's Cathedral. Join an exclusive tour with a dedicated museum guide to discover the Cairns Museum.
Now it's time for a break and the opportunity to indulge in a delicious Devonshire Tea at Noa's Café in the leafy suburb of Edge Hill.
Once afternoon tea is done, stretch your legs with a wander through the Flecker Gardens in Cairns Botanic Gardens.
