This free day use area offers toilets, drinking water, sheltered picnic tables, kids playground, walking trails & nice scenery. Lake Awoonga is situated a short drive from Gladstone or Boyne Island/Tannum Sands and is only minutes from the Bruce Highway.
There are two walking trails to suit people of different fitness levels. Around 25% of Australia's bird species can be found in the Lake Awoonga region, and a leisurely walk may provide you with a good viewing vantage.
No dogs or cats allowed at the Awoonga Recreational Area.
No camping or overnight parking allowed.
