Gilberton station is closed to camping and fossickers Mt Hogan. also known as Lake Fred is open . Gilberton Station is renowned for its gold prospecting. It is also a great place to go camping with the family and get away from the hustle and bustle from everyday life. There are no facilities. You are required to provide your own drinking water, first aid and toilet. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace. There is no mobile phone coverage or phone access. There is no credit card facilities, please bring cash. Fires are allowed for cooking purposes. Make sure the fire is properly contained and extinguished. NO ATV's, RTV's or motorbikes. Dogs are the responsibility of the owner. Gilberton and Mt Hogan Stations bait for feral animals regularly, these baits pose a threat to your pets. We advise that you supervise you dog at all times, should anything happen, it is entirely your responsibility. Should any dogs be found to chase or harm wildlife or cattle, you will be asked to leave.
