Description

NOW OPEN Formerly known as Bloomfield Beach Camp and Hayley's Cabins. Kat, Yogi and Bear look forward to meeting you at this Tropical Forest Oasis. Small yet with all the right facilities to enjoy the amazing forest and surrounds, we are situated at the northern end of the famous Bloomfield track (currently 4wd unsealed road to Wujal Wujal then it becomes a sealed road), just out of the little township of Ayton on the Bloomfield River. Ayton is also just 1 hour south of Cooktown on a sealed road - offering a spectacular forest drive. With 10 acres including 5 acres of spectacular rain forest, it is a paradise for birds both large and small and home to a variety of local wildlife. Note. Direct Beach access from the camp is blocked by the amazing mangrove system of Weary Bay. It is a beautiful and relaxing place to spend a few peaceful days, or weeks... There are shady powered as well as unpowered sites or if you fancy a bit of indulgence, there are several cabins, safari tents and even a two bedroom fully self contained cottage (two night minimum applies to the cottage). Hideaway licensed Cafe and Restaurant is closed until further notice. Also on site are clean toilet and shower facilities, laundry and a large, well appointed kitchen. Note. THE CLOSEST DUMP POINT is in Cooktown. Telstra mobile phone reception is also now available. The camping area is close to the beautiful Weary Bay (you can hear the surf!), and just a stones throw from the Bloomfield River. The Roaring Meg Falls, high up in the Ranges makes a great outing and a great spot for a swim. We are pet friendly to social and respectful companions. We look forward to your visit. See you soon.
