Woralie Creek Campground
CampgroundDescription
Woralie Creek beach camping area is on K'gari (Fraser Island), 15km off the coast of Hervey Bay and about 300km north of Brisbane. Camping permits for QPWS&P camping areas are required and must be purchased before setting up camp fees apply. Vehicle access permits must be purchased for every vehicle before entering K'gari.
The camping area is near Woralie Road, at the western beach end, approximately 12.2km north of the Moon Point estuary in Platypus Bay. It is accessible by boat via the Great Sandy Marine Park, and by 4WD along the beach at low tide. Your high clearance 4WD must have low range functions.
This beach camping area sits in the low foredunes and is shaded by forests of Moreton Bay ash, black wattle, coastal she oak and pandanus. It's an ideal location for less-experienced drivers and for people wanting to avoid beach driving. This site is suitable for tent and camper trailer camping.
The calm ocean waters here make for sensational beach sunsetssoak up the golden light as you stroll along the shore.
Try your luck at fishing in the protected waters of the Great Sandy Marine Park and canoe or kayak in Platypus Bay.
At night fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the waves rolling up the beach.
Pets are not permitted.
