Description

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site at all times. All camping permits must be obtained before you arrive on the island (there is no self-registration on site). The Wrecks campground is set next to a sheltered bay. Sites are well defined and surrounded by native trees and shrubs. The campground can only be reached by 4WD and boats. It is not accessible for campers with camper trailers. The toilet facilities are accessible by 4WD, but campers need to park on the beach and walk a short distance to each camp site. The campground is also suitable for walkers, boaties and campers without vehicles. There are a maximum of 21 unpowered sites are available, all marked with totems. Seasonal closures mean that not all sites will be full all year round. Facilities include water (treat before drinking), hybrid toilets, cold showers and rubbish bins. A QldParks-Wifi hotspot is available at The Wrecks camping area. Open fire, generators and pets are prohibited.
