The Oaks Campground
CampgroundDescription
The Oaks on Facing Island is a pristine, relaxed, beachfront camping ground located on the north-west side of the island, a short distance from the ferry drop off point at Farmers Point.
Access to Facing Island is by private vessel or via Curtis Ferry Services which operates five days per week and can transport passengers and vehicles. Please ensure your transfers are booked through Curtis Ferry Services prior to booking your campsite.
There are 32 unpowered campsites on the island, suited to self-sufficient campers. Composting toilets are available at the camping ground; however, there are no chemical toilet waste disposal units. Wood fires are strictly prohibited in the grounds and on the beach, you will need to bring a gas or kerosene fuelled stove. Low noise generators are permitted between 7am and 7pm daily.
Dogs are permitted in the grounds - they must be on leash or tethered at all times and owners must clean up after their dog.
A maximum of three campsites can be booked per family with a maximum of six people per site.
Maximum stay permitted is 14 days - if extensions are required, please contact the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre prior to the checkout day.
