Rainforest Camp- Iron Range NP - Permit Required
CampgroundDescription
Rainforest camping area is a shady and sheltered area in the rainforest on the bank of the Claudie River-a great spot for birdwatching. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles only. There are three numbered sites. Site one can fit a trailer, site two and three tents only.
All camping in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park (CYPAL) must be booked in advance. Campers must purchase an e-permit before arriving at the camping areas. Self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site (however there is limited mobile phone coverage on Chilli Beach).
To obtain an e-permit, you can:
Book online
Visit an over-the-counter permit booking office or self-service kiosk
Phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply.
Roads and camp sites within the park are not suitable for caravans. Campers must be equipped for camping in a remote area. Total self-sufficiency in food, water, equipment for treating water, fuel and vehicle spare parts is essential. Minimise your use of fresh water.
Generators that operate at a noise level less than 65dB(A) measured at a distance of 7m from the generator are permitted between 8 am and 7pm.
No pets.
