Camping permits for QPWS&P camping areas are required and must be purchased before setting up campfees apply. A vehicle access permit must be purchased. Display the permit on your windscreen before driving in the recreation area. Beach camping zone 2 is on K'gari (Fraser Island), 15km off the coast of Hervey Bay and about 300km north of Brisbane. The camping zone is on the eastern side of the island between Eurong and Poyungan Rocks. Eurong is 35.5km north of Hook Point. The Eastern Beach scenic drive is only accessible 2hrs either side of low tide. Stretching between the township of Eurong and Poyungan Rocks, this camping zone has three areasOne Tree Rocks, Cornwells and Gabala. A great stopover along the Eastern Beach scenic drive, the camping zone is also close to the feature-packed Central Lakes and Southern Lakes scenic drives. Your high clearance 4WD must have low range functions. Sites are suitable for tents, swags and off-road camper trailers. There are no toilets or other facilities. Generators allowed (conditions apply).
