Description

Swap modern life for rugged landscapes, spectacular panoramas and pristine forests at this secluded bush camp near Northbrook Mountain summit. This is a walk / cycle in campground. There is no vehicle access. Camping permits must be obtained prior to camping in the park and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site. A maximum of 9 people (3 x 3-person tents) can camp in this area at one time. Camp sites are suitable for walk-in camping only. There are no facilities. Open fires are prohibited fuel or gas stoves only. Generators are not permitted. Bury all faecal waste and toilet paper in holes 15cm deep and at least 100m from waterways, camps and tracks. Make sure you carry a small trowel or spade for this purpose. Access is via the intersection of Lawnton Rd and Mt Glorious Rd. There's enough space here for several cars to park. Walk or ride your bike along Lawton Road, then turn right onto England Creek Road and follow it to the bush camp. The total distance is about 5.4km. Blissfully remote, Northbrook Mountain bush camp sits high on a picturesque ridge in wet sclerophyll forest, overlooking Kipper Creek. Hike or ride your mountain bike along steep trails to access this camp, exploring beautiful subtropical rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest. Be rewarded with amazing views along the way, among the best you'll find of all the bush camps in D'Aguilar National Park. Take a 15-minute walk from camp to the summit of Northbrook Mountain to admire extensive views across England Creek catchment and a blanket of colourful heath flowers blooming in winter and spring. Mobile phone coverage is unreliable. Pets are not permitted.
