Description

All camping in Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve must be booked in advance. Campers must purchase an e-permit before arriving at the camping areas-self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site. To obtain an e-permit, you can: - book online- visit an over-the-counter camping permit booking office or self-service kiosk - phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply. Enjoy basic camping at the North Palmer River camping area-a remote and undeveloped bush camp on the North Palmer River. The camping area consists of two separate sections of river bank along the North Palmer River-the upper and lower sections. Camping permits are for the camping area as a whole-visitors can chose to camp at either the upper or lower section on arrival. Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve is closed throughout the wet season every year from 1 December, reopening on Good Friday-roads into and on the park become impassable for extended periods and are closed to public access. These dates may vary depending on weather and road conditions, and roads may also be closed after heavy rain. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive only. Both the upper and lower sections are suitable for tents and off-road camper trailers, but not accessible for caravans and buses. There are no facilities. Open fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply)-existing fireplaces should be used if provided. Firewood must not be collected from the reserve. Fuel stoves are recommended. Only generators that operate at or below 65dB(A) when measured 7m from the generator are allowed. Generators may be operated between 8.00am and 7.00pm only. Mobile phone coverage is not available and pets are not permitted.
