Description

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site. Bookings must be made in advance and permits are not available from the national park. Miyumba camping area is a small camping area set in open woodland near the banks of the Gregory River. Shade is limited. It is located 3.5km south of Riversleigh D Site and approximately 55km south-east of Lawn Hill Gorge.The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle during May to September, although four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended. Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, campervans, and four-wheel-drive caravans and camper trailers.Facilities include water (tank can be empty) and a hybrid toilet. Treat all water before drinking. Open fires are not allowed-fuel or gas stoves only. Generators and pets are not permitted. Mobile phone coverage: not available at Miyumba camping area or Riversleigh D Site. The Telstra Next G network is available on the Gregory Road, 10 km east of the mine turn-off to the entrance to Lawn Hill Gorge. The network is also available for 10 km along the Riversleigh Road from the Adels Grove/Lawn Hill Gorge intersection. The nearest public phone is at Adels Grove.
