Lloyd-Jones Weir is situated 15 kilometres south west of Barcaldine. Approximately 9 kilometres off the Landsborough Hwy to the west along the Barcaldine Isisford Rd. It is a recreation and fishing area. Its open daily, all year round and is a great place to enjoy the surrounds of Barcaldine.
Free camping is permitted and donations are appreciated. Camping in tents is allowed. A DONATION BOX IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP TO THE TOILETS.
The scenic area offers picnic facilities with Wood BBQ, Drinking Water, Flush toilets, Bird watching, Shady eucalptus, covered rest area as well as being a great fishing and swimming spot during the wet season. A quiet and restful area away from the noise of everyday living. The Lloyd-Jones Weir is 5km along the highway towards Blackall where you turn right and travel for about 9km then turn left on to a sandy soil road for about 1km.
It is dog friendly and accessible to RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs.
There is a dump point at this site.
