Gum Hole campground and picnic area is a great place to explore Diamantina National Park and is located approximately 500m from the turn-off to Gum Hole on Springvale Road. The camping area features private sites shaded by coolibah and bauhinia trees along Whistling Duck Creek. There are 5 separate but unnumbered sites.
E-permits are required prior to arrival at the campground and fees apply.
4wd is required to access this campground and sites are unpowered and suitable for tents and camping beside your vehicle. Camper trailers are not recommended.
A pit toilet is available.
Open fires are permitted, except when fire prohibitions or fire bans are in place. Fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators are not allowed, except for medical reasons (with the department's permission).
Mobile phone coverage is unavailable; satellite phones and UHF radios recommended.
No pets.
