Description

All camping in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park (CYPAL) must be booked in advance. Campers must purchase an e-permit before arriving at the camping areas. Self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site (however there is limited mobile phone coverage on Chilli Beach). To obtain an e-permit, you can: book online visit an over-the-counter permit booking office or self-service kiosk phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply. Gordon Creek camping area features a shady and sheltered area in the rainforest on the bank of Gordon Creek-a great spot for birdwatching. There are four numbered and unpowered sites. Camp sites are very popular during peak periods. Campers should plan their visit and obtain an e-permit well in advance. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles and off-road trailers only. There are no facilities. Roads and camp sites within the park are not suitable for caravans. Campers must be equipped for camping in a remote area. Total self-sufficiency in food, water, equipment for treating water, fuel and vehicle spare parts is essential. Minimise your use of fresh water. Generators that operate at a noise level less than 65dB(A) measured at a distance of 7m from the generator are permitted between 8 am and 7pm. Fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply) in existing fireplaces only. Mobile phone coverage is not available. Domestic animals, including dogs, are not permitted in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park .
