Ebuta Farm Stay (Brian & Jean)
CampgroundDescription
The name Ebuta is a South African Zulu word from Umzimkulu in the Transkei. Ebuta means 'The Gathering Place' where Zulu cheifs would meet to discuss issues of mutual concern.
Jeans family farm was located in the area and we decided to call our farm Ebuta when we established our former raw goat milk dairy, cheesery and ice creamery. Little did we realise back then that we would become a 'gathering place' of a different kind, for travellers passing through our region. In fact, historically, our area used to be part of the old Cobb & Co route when travellers in those early pioneering years would make their way from Townsville to Hughenden.
Ebuta is located just 20klm from Townsville in the foothills of Mount Elliott and just 720 m off the Flinders Highway is where you'll find us.
We are an ideal base and within easy reach of all the tourist places in the Townsville region including day trips to Magnetic Island, The Strand, Castle Hill and the 'goat track', Paluma, and of course the historic gold mining town of Charters Towers. There is so much to experience in our City and you will enjoy all the local attractions. We are also an Ideal stop-over for vehicular and caravan repairs and servicing.
We have all the facilities that you would expect from a farm stay. We also breed black Boer goats, free range hens roam our gardens and in season we have an edible community garden available for your convenience.
The reviews indicate people enjoy visiting with us and I'm sure you will too.
Regards, Brian and Jean Venten
