Dilli Village
CampgroundDescription
The K'gari-Fraser Island Research and Learning Centre at Dilli Village has comfortable bunkhouses, self-contained cabins and an open grassed area for camping. The entire site is surrounded by a dingo-proof fence with three covered picnic areas with BBQs for use by guests. There is also a fresh water swimming hole just outside the grounds, complimented by a foot bridge for easy access to the beach.
Currently there are 15 family sites (9 powered, 6 unpowered), designed to fit larger tents/gazebos, campervans/trailers, caravans and multiple vehicles. Also there are 9 smaller sites (unpowered), designed to accommodate guests doing the Great Walk or only have a swag or 2-man tent.
Dilli Village is one of the few places on K'gari-Fraser Island that permits campfires, providing there is not a total fire ban in place on the island. However it is a requirement that all guests and day visitors, when booking in, obtain permission to light a fire during their stay. Should weather conditions deteriorate during your stay, the on-site caretakers will notify all guests of the impact on fires.
