Corni Paroo River Camping Area

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site. Book prior to arrival.
Corni Paroo Waterhole bush camping area is located approximately 35km north east of the ranger station and features: shady areas beside waterholes along the Paroo River, where you can go swimming, fishing, canoeing, birdwatching and bushwalking.
The camping area can be reached by 4WD vehicle, off-road camper trailers, off-road caravans and small off-road motorhomes and buses in dry weather only.
Camping is unpowered and in open areas without separately defined sites. There are picnic tables and a pit toilet is available at Caiwarro Ruins.
Open fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply) but fuel stoves recommended. Do not collect firewood from the national park-penalties apply. Bring your own clean mill off-cuts or use fuel stoves instead.
Pets and generators are prohibited. Mobile phone coverage is available at the Ranger station located in Currawinya National Park.
All camping areas are closed when the Paroo River floods. It is advisable to contact the Department of Transport and Main Roads or phone 13 19 40 for road conditions and the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for weather conditions one week prior to travelling.
