Description

Camping permits are required and fees apply. Permits must be obtained before setting up camp. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Maximum length of stay is 14 nights. Clancys camping area is a large, open grassy area adjacent to Emu Creek. Horses should be tethered away from the camping area and watered downstream (or water carried to them). The campground is located 14km into Benarkin State Forest via Forest Drive, adjacent to Emu Creek. The campground is accessible by conventional vehicles (with care) via gravel road with some steep, narrow and winding sections. Watch for logging trucks. It is accessible for trailers, caravans, motorhomes and buses with care. Facilities include flushing toilets and tap water (treat before drinking). Fuel stoves are recommended. Wood fires are allowed in the constructed fireplaces provided (except when fire bans apply). Emu Creek does not always flow, so swimming and/or fishing may not always be possible. Dogs are allowed overnight in Clancys camping area provided they are under control and restrained on a leash at all times. Generators are not permitted and mobile phone coverage is not available.
