Description

All camping in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park (CYPAL) must be booked in advance. Campers must purchase an e-permit before arriving at the camping areas. Self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site (however there is limited mobile phone coverage on Chilli Beach). To obtain an e-permit, you can: book online visit an over-the-counter permit booking office or self-service kiosk phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply. Camp sites in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park (CYPAL) are very popular during peak periods. Campers should plan their visit and obtain an e-permit well in advance. The maximum length of stay at all camping areas is 21 consecutive nights and bookings can be made up to six months in advance. Located behind the dunes and fringing coastal vegetation, including coconut palms, this popular camping area offers beach walking and fishing opportunities. Avoid camping and sitting under trees laden with coconuts. Chili Beach is located near the north-east boundary of the park on the coast. Follow Portland Roads Road to the Chilli Beach turn-off. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles only. There are 25 unpowered, numbered sites suitable for tents and camper trailers. Toilet facilities are available. Open fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply) in existing fireplaces only. Fuel stoves recommended. Generators and pets are not permitted at Chilli Beach camping area.
