Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 3 kilometers (4 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton.
The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash).
The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland.
There are eight (8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit.
There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for 'fully self contained' motor homes and caravans.
Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife.
Cost: The cost is shown as $20 a night for 2 guests .. but 1 guest is only $10 a night and for 3 to 6 guests the price is fixed at $30 per night (the site does not cater for those prices to be displayed).

The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing.
So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you.
