A camping area is located at Big Crystal Creek, in Mount Spec, Paluma Range National Park. Remote bush camping is available for experienced bushwalkers. Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
The camping area is located beside Big Crystal Creek, this camping area is a popular swimming and picnic spot and a good place for birdwatching. It is 4km from the park entrance along the unsealed Spiegelhauer Road.
The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicles. It is accessible to trailers and small caravans. Large caravans and buses are not recommended because it is a relatively small area with a narrow access road through the camping area.
Facilities include water (treat all water before drinking), flushing toilets, cold showers, picnic tables and gas barbecues. Open fires are allowed in fire rings only (except when fire bans apply).
Generators are permitted, but must only be operated at less than 65dB(A), when measured 7m from the generator and only between 9am and 12pm (midday).
Mobile phone coverage is good.
Pets are not permitted.
