Camping permits for QPWS&P camping areas are required and must be purchased before setting up campfees apply. A vehicle access permit must be purchased. Display the permit on your windscreen before driving in the recreation area. Beach camping zone 4 is on Fraser Island, 15km off the coast of Hervey Bay and about 300km north of Brisbane. The camping zone is on the eastern side of Fraser Island between Happy Valley and Eli Creek. Happy Valley is 56.2km north of Hook Point. The Eastern Beach scenic drive is only accessible 2hrs either side of low tide. Extending along the coast between Happy Valley and Eli Creek, this camping zone is a fantastic, centrally-based location. Your high clearance 4WD must have low range functions. Sites are suitable for tents, swags and off-road camper trailers. There are no toilets or other facilities. Generators allowed (conditions apply).
