Description

Manangoora Station is on the Savannah Way in the Gulf of Carpentaria region 100km east of Borroloola. From Borroloola, take the Savannah Way (Wollogorang Road) east towards the Queensland border. Turn left just after the Foelsche River crossing. Follow the signs to Manangoora Campground. Manangoora Campground offers fantastic fishing opportunities and remote bush camping but there are no toilets, shower facilities nor is there a rubbish collection service. Please respect our country and the environment by taking everything you bring into Manangoora Station home with you. The campground is located on the picturesque Wearyan River amongst the cycads and has extensive area for campers to find their own secluded spot either along the river banks or in the bushland away from the river. Access is by 4WD. Sites are unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers and off-road caravans. Pets are permitted and generators are allowed. This is a remore campground all visitors needs to be self sufficient. Manangoora Campground has the closest boat ramp access to the Gulf of Carpentaria, Vanderlin Island, Edward Pellow Islands & Barranyi National Park. No mobile phone networks are available we recommend bringing a Satellite phone for safety.
