Description
Perched on the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment, Karnamarr camping area boasts breathtaking views.
From here you'll have easy access to the magnificent Jim Jim and Twin Falls - from the campsite, Jim Jim Falls is 10 km and Twin Falls is 18 km.
The spectacular red-tailed black cockatoo is a common sight here and is responsible for the campsite's name Karnamarr is 'red-tailed black cockatoo' in the Kunwinjku language.
Sites are unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers and off-road caravans. 2WD can access this campground (if recently graded) however 4WD is required to drive to Jim Jim falls and twin falls.
Facilities include drinking water, flushing toilets, hot showers, picnic area and fire pits. Pets are not permitted.
Swim at your own risk in the Jim Jim plunge pool only.
This campground is closed during the wet season.
